Here is a complete polished translation - Community English translation pack v.01 for SGM 1.6 (1.69MB):

How to install:
1. Install CoP 1.6.00; 1.6.01 or 1.6.02;
2. Install SGM 1.6 for CoP:

3. Install Fix SGM 1.6 Update. 23.07.2010 (57.55MB):

4. Copy the gamedata folder from the SGM 1.6 Community English translation pack v.01.7z archive into your Stalker program installation folder, and allow it to overwrite all folders and files.
All files, except SGM_stories.xml, were translated, edited and are consistent with original English CoP files.
The SGM_stories.xml file contains only two original English Stalker stories of 20 in total. A translation of the Russian stories makes near no sense, they lose all of their flavor. Since that bringing in the game stalker stories which were written in English initially by English speaking stalker fans is definitely better option. If more stories come, me or someone else from the team will post updated file.

Also, I would recommend to install Russian Audio Dialogue Mod (1.0), if you want the game to sound more authentically. Just for a note: unlike the English version the real theater artists were invited to make characters' voice record for the Russian one:

Hi lukass, here is some feedback:
when comparing eng and rus version of \configs\text\loc\SGM_descr_books.xml, you see some elements are missing:
from st_book_for_zastava_m76_title until st_book_for_svdk_title. In SGM_descr_addons.xml as well, e.g. tulpan.
In scripts: news.script, news_text.script, qwest_news_text.script: english is sometimes transcripted cyrillic, not everything has been translated properly.
Only thing is, I don't know where the original rus texts are (I would like to know)! But it reads awful, like e.g.:
"I goldfinch nastrekotal that some passengers flunked our kids to Shevchenko that for Gopnik, I'll break his neck.",
"No pasaran, Brother! Come on (?)Midsummer(?) , we then drove ganzhika, raskumarimsya!".
In general, thanks a lot for the translation, I'm slowly learning some russian but that's not sufficient for understanding most of the texts.
I would be *very* interested in a bilingual version (for me: rus/eng) for printed text. It should be possible to merge xml entries automagically, e.g.

Another way, not requiring that silly merging, would be to have double dialogue windows and description popups. This does not cover the whole of the game, but does cover most of the printed text.

Braz 1.6.1.1 IM English Translation
English translation of the Braz 1.6.1.1 in-game IM chat messages. The script files in this contain the 1.6.1.1 2010-08-09 fixes posted on the SGM forums.

To install, download, extract the archive, and copy the gamedata over a Braz 1.6.1.1 gamedata. Should work with Braz 1.6.1 as well, and might work with Braz 1.6 (don't have it to test).
The chat messages are in script files so it's pot luck as to whether this will work with future versions of Braz. |

Hey Guys, help me out here,
Are these the last updates for the translation of SGM? I downloaded the mod yesterday and after copying these files... a lot is still in Russian. And my Russian is non-existent. Am I doing something wrong?
Any feedback would really be appreciated, it looks like a good mod.
